The relaxing and beautiful landscape is ideal for nature lovers and it is a protected area by the Natura 2000 Network.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"www.cretantaxi.com\/app\/uploads\/2016\/04\/kournas_limni.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"960\" height=\"720\"><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>An old myth said that the lake has no bottom. A second myth states that there was a village in the position of the lake, where a beautiful girl lived with her father. One day, her father admired her and tried to seduce his daughter. The desperate girl starting shouting &#8220;Lake come and I will be the ghost of the lake&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>The area immediately sank and flooded with water, creating the lake.
